Joey is a 7th grade math teacher, so she is handles the financial end of our bucking bull business with perfection. Joey loves the bull business and is a great mother. We have both been around rodeo for a good portion of our lives. I started swinging a rope in high school and I knew I wanted to be involved in the great sport of rodeo. Unfortunately, the PBR did not exist at this time! I really thought team roping suited me, but as a left handed heeler, I found many obstacles in my way that the best horses could not fix. So back in the mid 1990's, I started producing an amateur rodeo in the town we lived in, Humble, TX. I was also fortunate enough to put together and run a two day rodeo for the school district each year. This is where I met a man that would really turn on my desire to the bull business. Doug Butcher was the contractor I used for the rodeo each year. Doug and I quickly became friends and he saw my interest really peak with the bucking bulls he owned. So I began to occupy lots of Doug's time with the bulls, as well as haul to PBR events with him. Things just really took off from there for us in the bucking bull business. Joey and I made this business a matter of prayer long before a decision was made. God continued to open doors in this direction as well as bless us financially to get started. God really blessed us again last year when the phone rang and a man by the name of Roy Carter was on the other end of the phone. Roy said he had heard about me and my bulls through a common friend Tracy LaBuff & bull vet Dr. James Hall. Both Tracy & Dr. Hall had put in good words of support for me to Roy. The call from Roy was to invite me to his ranch & offer me the chance to grow even more in this industry. He offered to let me keep my bulls at his ranch and really focus on buying great bulls for top notch PBR events. Roy took us under his wing and said, "You all can stay in my hip pocket now, and know you and your bulls will be taken care of. I will do all I can to get you to the next level of this sport we love so dearly." He has done just that! All that we are and all that we have, belongs to our saviour, Jesus Christ. We try very hard to live our lives on the road of the PBR accordingly so that people can see Him through us and our actions. Flyin' V Bucking Bulls now exists on a level in the PBR that we always dreamed of. We intend to strive to be the very best with the very best bulls. Whether we own 1 or 10, we want them to be at the top of their game when they are loaded on the trailer. Men like Roy Carter insure that.
